Palazzo Bernardini d’Arnesano has an imposing looking. The Palazzo is the result of the fusion of three different Renaissance mansions that the Mandoj family unified in the second half of the XIX century, for the wedding of their only daughter, Aurelia, with Raffaele Bernardini, Marquis of Arnesano. From that moment, the Palazzo has taken its current shape and has become the house of the spouses.
The elegant neoclassic /façade /dominates the little square just in front of the building. The spacious courtyard is composed by an arched roof hall and an open hall characterised by the traditional stone floor and by a beautiful niche with a typical decoration of the Renaissance period.
Two big marble staircases lead to the main floor and to the apartments at the second floor. At the main floor, a beautiful fresco from the XV century is preserved, representing St. Mary with the Child, St. Anne, St. Onofrio and St. Francesco.
The ceramic floors from the XIX century are fully decorated and the frescosand /stucco /from XVII and XIX century are remarkable. The painting collection of XVII century, baroque period, is unique. The beautiful furniture or the XVI and XVII century is also noteworthy.
The apartaments are all independent.
The first one is equipped with: living room with fireplace and air conditioning, dining room, kitchen, 2 double rooms, bathroom, 5 balconies on the palace façade viewing the Duomo.
The second one with entrance, living room, dining room with open space kitchen, 2 double rooms, 2 bathrooms, terrace viewing an old garden and the Duomo bell tower.
The structure is located in an ancient building behind Piazza Duomo, few steps away from the historical city centre and the major monuments.
