This fortified farmhouse is located at 5 minutes walking distance in the countryside of a typical, small town: Minervino di Lecce. The farmhouse covers a surface of 1000 sqmts and it’s surrounded by walls with a large inner courtyard.

This farmhouse was once known as the “St. Peter’s” or the “Two Masters” farmhouse. The present name is due to the 12 underground granaries, hollowed in the stone

The farmhouse “12 granai” was restored in 2008. It is composed of 10 bedrooms, a dining room for 20 people, an inner common area with a large garden where it’s possible to rest or play and a terrace  with a beautiful view on the Salento country.

All the ensuite rooms have air conditioning and a private dehors. Rooms are no-smoking and have Wi-Fi connection.

A buffet breakfast is served inside the large dining room. Guests can find: coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam, eggs, olives, juices, fresh fruit and cookies.

Palazzo Mellacqua rises close to the historical centre of Castiglione d’Otranto.
The main entrance, from a wooden arch-shaped main door, leads to an exposed courtyard having access to the hall, the large vestibule, the reading room and the bedrooms.

A stair in the courtyard gets to the first floor crossing a roof decorated with octagonal columns which lead to a big outbuilding.

“Everything was perfect except for the dinner. Anyway, we had a beautiful time.”

After a thorough renovation operated by the landlord, the house is at present the residence of the B&B’s manager’s family.

The wide garden of olive and palm trees and the swimming pool are at disposal of guests for the whole summer period.

In order to assure the guests a genuine family-run B&B, the structure has only 2 rooms available, both with a private bathroom, provided with either one or two double beds.

One of these rooms, consisting of two separated interiors with a fireplace, is an ideal place for people who desire “something more”.

For those who enjoy riding a bicycle through the countryside, it will be possible to explore the Cupa valley, by crossing the countryside itself, in full harmony with the surrounding nature.

The House of Tobacco, is a building dated back to the early twentieth-century where tobacco, once considered a real richness in Salento, used to be manufactured. All made of stone with a garden in the front, it is a big house located along the main Vitigliano’s road, a small town parts of the thermal bath of Santa Cesarea, in the province of Lecce. We are located in the southern part of the “Italian heel”, along the Adriatic coast, about 4 kilometres from the sea, and more northward to Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca, the southern tip of Puglia.

Paved with typical stone of Lecce, all made of stone, the house was rebuilt without any conspicuous changes on spring 2006. Three wide master bedrooms (one with an alcove with two additional beds) are on the first floor, each one with private bathroom. A flat with two communicating rooms, bathroom and kitchen is in the mid-span floor. A bedroom with bathroom and kitchen, equipped for handicapped is in the low ground.
A peculiarity of the House of Tobacco consists on the huge social space at clients’ disposal, a large hall of about 200 square meters and two other of narrowed size, a big dinning hall and a big kitchen.

Both bathrooms and kitchen are new and a system of solar panels for the hot water is installed on the roof. The receptive offer is inspired by the value of authenticity, both in the makeover of the house (all the furniture are typical of the Salento and are dated back to the beginning of the twentieth century) and in the will to make visitors know about the local traditions with a special care for the gastronomy. Breakfast will include Salentine food specialities, both sweet and salty. The owners of the House of Tobacco intend to offer an excellent service and a comfort with high standard that express the value and the beauties of Salento, encouraging an interesting path of quality, for culture, landscapes, gastronomy and why not, for shopping activities.

Driving for 4 kilometres it will be possible to reach one of the most clean and beautiful Italian shores, with cliffs that overlook the sea, astonish grottos, little Mediterranean fiords (Porto Badisco, Acquaviva), small ports handheld excavated during the nineteen-century that seem like real natural pools. Both Santa Cesarea Terme and Castro Marina provide different kind of facilities: boats rent, cruises, scuba diving, fishing. Santa Cesarea Terme is a renowned thermal center, open the all year, with the exception of February, March and April. Costumers of the House, can take advantage of reduced prices, thanks to an agreement signed with the House of Tobacco. The country side is marked for the red Salentine soil and its olive trees. the villages in the surrounding keep amazing buildings and old churches intact, in Baroque style. Palazzo Romasi it’s an ancient XVI Century Residence located in the historical centre of Alessano, few kilometres away from Santa Maria di Leuca.
The structure has recently been renewed and enriched with some fine details, though respecting the original structure.
The first thing that strikes the guest is the entrance, with a stone path leading to the courtyard, where the swimming pool is located.
The five apartments for the guests are divided on two floors as follows:
First floor:
- Apartment “Barocco” for two people, with living room, open kitchen, double room, bathroom with shower.
- Apartment “Croce di Malta” for 4 people, on two floors. It has two double rooms, two bathrooms with shower, one living room and one kitchen with a fire place.
- “Affresco”, at the first floor. It is composed of an entrance, a dining room for 8 people, an equipped kitchen,a living room with sofas and LCD TV, 3 ensuite-bedrooms. This apartment is a luxury one thanks to the pieces of furniture and the architectural details, such as the fresco on one of the walls.

Ground floor:
- Apartment “Arco” for four people. The name is due to the arch that is inside and that, together with the stone vaults, enriches it. It is composed of a living room with open kitchen, sofa bed, double room, bathroom with shower.
- Apartment “Conchiglia” for four people, with open kitchen, two double rooms and one bathrrom with shower.
